Air Maniax
Ahmedabad guide

Entertainment places in Ahmedabad for kids.

Ahmedabad is not short of things to do with children — it is short of clear information about which of them actually suits a five-year-old on a 42-degree afternoon. This is an honest run through the options, what each one is good for, and where we fit.

Start here

Four questions that decide the day.

How old is the youngest child?

This decides more than anything else. A toddler needs soft, enclosed, low-height play. A nine-year-old needs something to climb, race or beat. Anywhere that treats both the same will bore one and frighten the other.

Indoors or outdoors?

From March to June, and through the monsoon, outdoor plans in Ahmedabad get abandoned at short notice. Indoor and air-conditioned is not a luxury here for most of the year — it is the difference between a plan and a cancelled plan.

How long do you actually have?

A lake or a riverfront is a half-day with travel. A museum is ninety minutes. Indoor play is bought by the hour, so it fits either side of lunch or a class.

Are the adults participating?

Some places need a parent inside the play area. Others expect you to sit and watch. Worth knowing before you arrive in the wrong shoes.

Outdoors, museums and wildlife

The city’s big days out.

These are the places most Ahmedabad families already know. We have deliberately not listed prices or timings for them — those change, and we can only vouch for our own.

Kankaria Lake

The lakefront with a toy train, a zoo and a kids' city. A long, walkable half-day when the weather is kind.

Ages 4–12 · outdoors

Sabarmati Riverfront

Open promenades and parks along the river. Free, unstructured space for younger children to run.

All ages · outdoors

Gujarat Science City

Science exhibits, an aquarium and a robotics gallery. Best for children old enough to read the displays.

Ages 7+ · mostly indoors

Auto World Vintage Car Museum

A large collection of vintage cars and carriages. A short, focused visit rather than a full day.

Ages 6+ · mixed

Indoor play

When the weather decides for you.

Indoor play centres are the category that has grown fastest in Ahmedabad, and they range from a few soft-play blocks in a mall corner to full adventure parks. The things worth checking are the same everywhere: is it air-conditioned, is there a separate area for toddlers, are staff actually watching the equipment, and can a parent sit down somewhere.

  • Under 80 cm play separately. MiniManiax is a toddler zone with soft play, and a parent can go in with them.

  • Parents can sit. There is an in-house café, and Non-Jumper entry if you want to walk round without jumping.
  • 90+ CCTV and trained marshals on every zone. Parking at Kleem Hub.

Tickets start at 199 per person excluding GST, by session length rather than a flat day rate. Every tier and the weekend rates are on the tickets page. For a celebration rather than a visit, see choosing a birthday venue in Ahmedabad. For what is actually inside ours, see the trampoline park guide.
